Careers in construction aren’t just for men…

picture of a professional woman wearing a hard hatAccording to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, www.bls.gov, out of 6 million workers in construction only 117,000 are women.  However, this all might soon change, effective Aug. 15, 2016, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs set forth new requirements that contractors must meet under the provisions of Executive Order 11246 prohibiting sex discrimination in employment.

Women in the construction industry are proving they are innovative leaders who recognize the challenges on the job site.  These emerging leaders are applying innovative technologies in the construction industry with dedication, integrity, and passion.  Project teams made up of different genders, races, and ethnicities, bring more perspectives to the build.  (Source:  constructech.com)
